The Science based targets divide the CO2e emission into three scopes. Scope 1 Scope 3 Upstream CO 2 Scope 3 Downstream Scope 2 Scope 1 Scope 1 are emissions controlled through our own operations. They include: Natural gas for ovens Natural gas for office heating Transport in own and rented vehicles forklifts and small trucks Scope 2 Scope 2 are emissions caused from our energy consumption – we consume the energy, but the CO2e is generated elsewhere. Scope 2 emissions are: District heating (oil, natural gas) Electricity (Coal, oil, natural gas) Scope 3 Scope 3 are emissions linked to our business activities, however not in our direct control, examples are raw material production, packaging materials, transport, business travel etc. Scope 3 emissions constitute 62% of Unibake’s total emissions. They include: • Flour • Raw materials • Packaging • Transport • Warehouse/Freezers • Business travel • Commuting • Investments
