Climate The way food is produced, distributed, and consumed has a direct impact on the environment. As the largest food producing component of the Lantmännen agricultural cooperative, we have a specific responsibility to act. Our customers and suppliers also want to protect the planet whilst unlocking business opportunities. Together, we can collaborate more effectively across the whole value chain. Agriculture and food production account for approximately one third of global greenhouse gas emissions. Since 2009 Unibake has reduced its relative CO2 emission on Scope 1+2 with 32%. However, as mentioned 62% of our CO2e emissions start in the field with the raw materials we use. To strengthen our impact, we have taken the following steps to also include the hardest-to-do emissions in our Scope 3: 1. Set baseline of our impact (823,000 tons CO2e (2019)) 2. Committed to the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) including Aligned our global climate ambition with the Paris Agreement (1.5°C). Validated our climate target setting in line with the SBTi criteria Committed to monitor and report on our progress towards 2030 3.
