Comitting to the Science Based Targets initiative To take our climate targets to the next level and make sure that the hard work we do lives up to global standards and makes a true impact we have committed to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) – a global initiative adopted by companies to support the Paris agreement and reduce the global warming to a limit of 1.5 degrees by 2030. Signing up for SBTi demonstrates Unibake’s clear ambition to reduce our emission in line with climate science. It also strongly states that we want to be transparent and communicate our actions and performance in public. Together with thousands of other global companies, we believe that science-based targets are not just undeniably good for the planet – they are good for business, too. SBTi requires us to calculate our total impact: 1. For Scope 1 and 2 we want to reduce absolute CO2e emissions by 50% by 2030 (base year: 2019) 2. For Scope 3 the target is a 30% reduction with a coverage of 67% by 2030. We also want suppliers contributing to 2/3 of our supply chain emissions to tackle their climate impact and set their own science- based targets no later than 2027. Our global reach means we can play an integral role in driving the transition to a net zero economy. “ We’re committed to transparency and openness on our sus- tainability performance. By signing up to SBTi, we put this commitment in writing. What is SBTi? The Science Based Targets initiative is a cooperation between United Nations Global Compact, World Resource Institute (WRI), the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). The initiative aims to enable businesses to take swift climate action by setting ambitious targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Targets adopted by companies are considered science-based if they are in line with the Paris Agreement, pursuing to keep global temperature increase below 2°C above pre-industrial levels with further efforts to limit warming to 1.5°C.
