Overview Action Areas Governance Company Structure Appendix 3 Introduction By Anna-Karin Wahlgren, Global Sustainability Director Lantmännen Unibake As a ‘Unibaker,’ there’s a lot to be proud of. We bake bread and pastries for consumers across the world, playing a role in the daily lives of millions of people. It doesn’t get much simpler – or more meaningful – than that. One of the things I’m most proud of is our approach to sustainability. It’s not an add-on to our business or the responsibility of a single department. Sustainability is at the heart of who we are and what we do, embedded in every function and decision across our company. Unified by SBTs In 2022, we committed to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), resulting in the submissions and SBTi approval in July 2023. Our commitment to reducing our climate impact has only grown stronger since launching our initial strategy. Today, the urgency of the climate agenda is clearer than ever, with extreme weather events, political instability, and fluctuating energy supplies affecting food production and supply chains worldwide. Working with sustainability is no longer about convincing leaders or employers to occasionally adopt a climate- friendly mindset. It is an ever-present awareness of issues that shape how we define fundamental concepts like quality of life, sense of security, and hope for a better future.
